Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Setting: General ED with combined adult and pediatric patients
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (1900-0730)
- Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
Experience & Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
- General ED combined adult/pediatric experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
Certifications & Skills Required
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Preferred Certifications:
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- MAB (Medication Administration by IV)
- Skills:
- Triage
- IV Starts
- Phlebotomy
Compliance & Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist and competency exams required prior to start and updated annually
- Medication and pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score within 3 years of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with remediation process if failed
Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate
- Facility-specific modules and orientation must be completed prior to start
- Float assignments within skillset expected
This position is ideal for experienced ED RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, combined adult/pediatric emergency department setting.
