Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiation RN
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
The Interventional Radiology/Cardiology RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, cardiac catheterization, and other minimally invasive interventions. This role involves collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include advocating for patients, directing and supervising assigned personnel, and potentially being on call for the Interventional Unit as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Desired: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice
Experience
- Required: At least 3 years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab (defaulting to higher requirement)
- Minimum 1 year experience in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or interventional radiology
- Desired: Conscious sedation training and monitor role experience
Licenses and Certifications
- Current RN license in the State of Oregon
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Preferred: Certifications specific to clinical specialty (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale), IV certification
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to provide care considering patient's age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial needs
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations
- Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred
Equipment Familiarity
- Infusion pumps, PCA pumps, and other medical equipment
- Computer, printer, photocopier, and patient charts
Additional Notes
- May be required to be on call for the Interventional Unit
- Acts as patient advocate and supervises assigned personnel
