Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Amarillo, Texas
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
- Location: Amarillo, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, 1pm-1am
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Travel Radius: 50 miles
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Required Skills & Certifications
- Charting System: Epic (experience required)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)
Job Responsibilities
- Float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Licenses & Verifications:
- State nursing license verification (primary source)
- NURSYS verification for RN
- Education verification (highest level)
- Background Checks:
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
- Fingerprinting (time-sensitive for certain locations)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
Competency & Training
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
- Color blind testing (online)
- Competency exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing score)
- Annual core training/testing for subcontractors
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
Additional Notes
- Complete application/resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- 7-year work history verification required
- Clear headshot photo required for badge
