Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Athens, Texas
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (highest requirement found)
• Prior travel experience required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Additional certifications may be required as applicable: NRP, CHEMO, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Skills & Competencies

• Experience with Epic charting system is required
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online)
• Competency Exams with minimum passing score of 80% (or higher Angoff score)
• Annual Core testing for subcontractors

Facility & Unit Details

• Number of rooms/beds: 22
• Night shift coverage

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire (if positive TB test)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (dose 1 and fully vaccinated status)

• Various internal attestations and compliance documents

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel contract.
• Fingerprinting and other onboarding steps may be required depending on location.
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgements required.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel experience looking for a night shift travel assignment in an ER setting using Epic charting.
