  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
  • Documentation System: EPIC required
  • Scrub Color: White top and navy pants
  • Traveler Radius: 50 miles

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years (higher value from description)
  • Travel Experience: Prior travel experience NOT required; 1st time travelers accepted with sufficient Med/Surg experience

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)

Licensure and Verification

  • Primary source online verification of state license required
  • NURSYS verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Education verification required (highest level)

Background and Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
  • Transcript or diploma may be accepted temporarily if education verification is delayed
  • Fingerprinting required for New Mexico placements only (not applicable here)
  • Complete application/resume required
  • 7-year work history verification required (NJ state mandates minimum 1 year prior verified with max 30-day gaps)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must renew annually
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year; chest x-ray and questionnaire if positive
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history; boosters if negative/equivocal
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

Additional Notes

  • Will accept first-time travelers with sufficient Med/Surg experience
  • Documentation and compliance with all listed certifications, competencies, background checks, and health requirements are mandatory for assignment clearance
