Description

Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT)

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Specialty

  • Radiology / Cardiology
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist for oncology patients in a fast-paced Nuclear Medicine and PET department
  • Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Procedures include PET, General and Cardiac Nuclear Medicine
  • Treatments include Y-90, Theragonstics, Lu-177 Pluvicto and Lutathera, I-131

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Rotating on-call after hours and weekends (usually every 4-5 weeks)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
  • 1st time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
  • EPIC experience required

Required Skills and Procedures

  • Adult inpatient oncology
  • Nuclear cardiology
  • Gastric Emptying
  • HIDA Scan
  • MUGA Scan
  • PET Scan
  • Bone scan (3 Phase, Limited, Whole body)
  • Liver imaging
  • DTPA Aerosol
  • Perfusion, Ventilation/Perfusion
  • Flow/Function studies
  • Renal/Perfusion
  • Lasix studies
  • Thyroid studies (cancer survey, I-123 uptake scan)
  • Tumor localization (limited & whole body)
  • SPECT/CT (Bone, Liver, Sestamibi parathyroid scan)
  • Myocardial (Exercise/Rest-Multiple, Exercise/Rest-Single, Pharmacological Stress)
  • Drawing venous blood
  • Isolation precautions
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Handling and disposal of radioactive materials

Equipment Experience Required

  • Siemens equipment

Certifications

  • Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Preferred:
    • ARRT (N)
    • CNMT
    • NMTCB
    • PET

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background checks including Social Security Trace, Sex Offender Registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
  • Immunizations/vaccinations as per facility policy (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, COVID)
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
  • Facility is 100% nicotine free
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
  • Must sign confidentiality agreement and comply with facility-specific policies

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • This is a travel/contract role in a specialized oncology nuclear medicine setting with advanced therapeutic procedures.
  • Candidates must be comfortable with on-call rotations and working in a fast-paced environment.
