Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology - Registered Nurse
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Setting: Outpatient Chemo Infusion
- Schedule: No weekends, no call
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice; rarely to PWIC if needed
- Minimum Experience Required: 1 year (accepts first-time travelers)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Clinical Screening: Candidates will be reviewed for clinical fit before final decision
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate
Required Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in certain specialties; verify if required for this role
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working with pediatric patients in certain areas; verify if applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Verify if required
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire if applicable
- State License: Valid Georgia RN license required
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required by agency for RNs
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required by agency for nursing staff
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for certain specialties; verify if applicable
Required Health Documents & Immunizations
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start (required by agency)
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start; includes education verification
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- TB Testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if past positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination; declination form required if titer negative
- Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Other: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended; declination form available if no current Tdap record

- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
- Floating assignments are rare and within scope of practice.
