Job Details
- Work Setting: Outpatient Chemo Infusion
- Schedule: No weekends, no call required
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice; rarely to PWIC if needed
- Minimum Experience: 1 year in specialty (first-time travelers accepted)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Clinical Screening: Candidates reviewed for clinical fit; final decision by manager
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA or ARC accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required for many specialties; confirm if required for this role
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required if working with pediatric patients in certain areas
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Check if applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable
Required Health Documents & Immunizations
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start (required by agency, not client)
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if past positive, additional documentation required
- TB Questionnaire: Required for all candidates, updated annually
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination (declination required if titer negative)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Highly recommended; declination form available for privileging specialties
- Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
Competency Exams & Other Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs by agency
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for certain specialties; up to 3 attempts allowed
- Competency Exam: Required for nursing and allied health by agency
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start; includes education verification
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months, annual update required
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof
Facility Policies & Compliance
- Code of Conduct and Dress Policy: Must review and sign prior to start
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in 2-week push back due to orientation schedule
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for Registered Nurses with infusion experience, accepting first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience. The role requires various certifications, health clearances, and competency exams to ensure compliance and readiness for the assignment.
