Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry Float)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Unit: Will float to all adult acute care units including Med Surg and Stepdown
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-6
- Schedule:
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Guaranteed hours:
- 36 hours for 3 shifts (12-hour shifts)
- 48 hours for 4 shifts (12-hour shifts)
- 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)
- On-call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Not allowed currently
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no local radius rule
- Pending License: Accepted if active by start date
Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years (preferred)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
- Clinical Experience:
- Telemetry experience required
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience working with 1:4-6 patient ratios required
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
Certifications & Licenses
- State nursing license valid by start date (Michigan license required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Additional certifications as applicable:
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, TNCC for ER)

Special Requirements
- Must float within scope to all adult acute care units (Med Surg and Stepdown)
- Must work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Modules related to orientation and unit-specific training required (some completed onsite, some prior to start)
- RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted at profile submission and cannot be approved after contract signing
Background & Compliance
- Background checks required within 30 days of assignment start, including:
- Social Security Number Trace
- National Criminal History Search (7 years)
- National Sex Offender Database Search
- FACIS Level 3 Search
- Education Verification
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- Fit mask OSHA respirator form must be completed at least 1 week prior to start

- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable floating across adult acute care units and working a consistent weekend schedule.
