Job Description

The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to patients and families across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults. The RN performs independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions according to standards and competencies specific to the assigned service area. Responsibilities include assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN develops and revises patient care plans, coordinates care among disciplines, delegates activities appropriately, and participates in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices. Duties may vary based on the assigned unit and may require specific clinical skills beyond general RN requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ER experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Experience:

  • Experience with all patient populations
  • Trauma Level IV experience required
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic system experience required

Additional Requirements

• Work history documentation
• Skills checklist current within 1 year, pertinent to specialty
• Two supervisory references with dates of employment
• MN DHS Net Study & Fingerprinting required for all patient-facing positions
• Compliance with strict deadlines for credentialing and documentation
