Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - New Jersey (Travel/Contract)

Location

• City: Camden, New Jersey
• Worksite includes floating within 5 hospitals in the area (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)

• 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse with a strong cardiac background
• Required to float within multiple hospitals and occasionally to ICU for downgraded PCU patients
• Block scheduling is NOT allowed
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
• Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) required
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• EPIC experience preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU or strong cardiac nursing
• Prior travel experience is not required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, must be current and valid beyond 30 days of contract start
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, must be current and valid beyond 30 days of contract start

Testing Requirements

• Must pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing contract (only 2 attempts allowed)
• Dysrhythmia test must be taken on a PC (not iOS devices)
• Failure to pass or complete test on time results in contract cancellation

Additional Requirements

• Must provide proof of:

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID
  • E-Verify or Attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required
• State nursing license verification (NURSYS verification required)
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (cannot work first shift without it)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific requirements for positive responders)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
• Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better)
• Latex questionnaire
• 2 professional references within last 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (NJ state requirement)

This position is ideal for experienced PCU nurses with a strong cardiac background who are comfortable floating between multiple hospital locations and meeting rigorous certification and testing requirements.
