Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Outpatient (Contract)

Location: Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care.
• Serve as a resource person when needed.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care.
• Care for patients from birth to elderly.

Qualifications

• Completed nursing education program from an NLN-approved institution.
• Licensed and in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
• Must be able to practice nursing according to Alaska state regulations.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within prescribed limits and be flexible with work schedule.
• Knowledge and skills required:

  • Basic nursing skills and basic EKG skills.
  • Ability to administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Provide patient/family education and collaborate with other professionals.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to document care delivery and follow guidelines/procedures.
  • Ability to supervise Unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in collaboration with Charge Nurse.
  • Cognitive and technical knowledge to manage care across the continuum.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Additional Requirements

• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations required.

• Required years of experience: 1 year as a Registered Nurse (preferred).
