Description

Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • Monday to Friday with variable day off
  • Weekend: Call only requirement
  • Call: 1 day call per week, 1 weekend every 6 weeks
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed; will float to Cath and EP with required procedures
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
  • Unit accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)

Holidays

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler expected to work two of them
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs/RRTs/CRTs in related specialties
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
  • Other certifications (if applicable): PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification (refer to unit description)
  • State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (for CRTs & RRTs)
  • Tech Cert Verification: Allied annual license verification within 30 days prior to start
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start for RN, LPN/LVN, AP

Required Background & Health Documents

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by client but required by agency)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start; additional TB testing required for privileging specialties
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; candidates cannot start with results pending
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination (declination form required if titer negative)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Competency Exams & Testing

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by agency)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)
  • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by agency)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
  • References: 2 clinical references required by agency (not required by client)
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)

Notes

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final decision
  • Privileging specialties (e.g., CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant, RNFA) have additional compliance and documentation requirements not applicable to this role unless specified
