Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Days
- Start Date: March 2
- Schedule:
- Pre-op: 06:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Intra-Procedural: 07:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- PACU: 07:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 08:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Weekend/On-call Requirements:
- Weekday on-call once per week (5:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend on-call every 6th or 7th weekend (Monday and Friday evenings 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM; Saturday and Sunday 24 hours)
- Float: Required to float per competency within GI Suite
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with Endoscopy experience (pre, intra, and post procedure)
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted if experienced in Endoscopy
- Licensure:
- Pending DC license accepted at time of submission
- Must have DC license in hand prior to start date
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Patient Age Group: Pediatrics and Adults
- Work Setting Skills Required:
- Pre/Post Procedure care
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Inpatient care
- Work Setting Skills Preferred: Outpatient Endoscopy center
- Department Ratios:
- Pre-op: 1:2
- Intra-procedural: 1:1
- PACU: 1:2
- Flu Vaccine: Required for all employees
Additional Requirements & Information
- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 90 days, including multiple state and federal checks
- Health Documents:
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within the last year
- Required immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (pass with 80% or higher) within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (not specifically stated for this role)
- Documentation:
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Dress Code: Scrubs or street clothes with hospital laundry scrubs provided
- Other: Must provide proof of pending DC license at submission and have license before start date
Summary
This is a travel Registered Nurse position specializing in Endoscopy with a 13-week contract in Washington, DC. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and a DC nursing license (pending accepted at submission). The schedule includes 4 ten-hour day shifts with on-call and weekend coverage. Flu vaccination is mandatory. First-time travelers are welcome if experienced in Endoscopy. The nurse will float within the GI Suite as needed.
