Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Minnesota (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a valid Minnesota nursing license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (preferably AHA or ARC)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required and must be kept up to date during contract (AHA preferred)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Comfortable working in both Med Surg and ER settings
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
• Competency exams as applicable by profession (must meet passing score)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government issued photo ID required
• Background check within 1 year of start (includes SS Trace, County searches for last 7 years, Nationwide, Sex Offender)
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start (candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless approved “more time needed” letter)
• Must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
• Drug screening: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of onsite HR documents prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start (if past positive PPD, negative chest x-ray required)
• Annual TB questionnaire per state requirements
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, 2 vaccines, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Continuing Education & Documentation

• CEUs as per state requirements
• Skills checklist required annually
• For CNAs (if applicable): 12 hours of Alzheimer/Dementia/Elder Abuse training annually (state requirement)

References

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, per diem acute care roles
• 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position
• Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications current and valid
• Candidate must be able to complete all required documentation and clearances prior to start date
