Job Description

• Position: Diagnostic X-Ray Tech
• Start Date: Within 3-5 weeks
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (shifts vary between 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Call: Required one week every 8 weeks, covering Monday to Friday from 5 PM to midnight and weekends from 8 AM to 8 PM
• May need to cover holidays
• May float to other locations within the health system

Certifications & Licenses Required

• State License: Valid Texas license required within 30 days of start

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 10-year Criminal Background Check required within 30 days of start, including SSN trace and checks for all locations lived/worked
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Check required within 30 days prior to start
• Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Checks required within 30 days prior to start
• Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
• Physical Exam required within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• N95 Fit Test required within 1 year of start (facility will not accept PAPR)
• Immunizations/Vaccinations required (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract):

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer or series (3 doses)
  • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or agency declination (required October 1 - March 31)

Competency & Documentation Requirements

• Competency exams required within 1 year of start (including medication/pharmacology competency as applicable)
• Skills checklist and employment application required, updated annually
• Confidentiality and security agreements, drug screening consent, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklists must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required, updated annually

Additional Notes

• May float to other locations within the health system
• Call coverage includes evenings and weekends on a rotating basis
• Holiday coverage may be required
