Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Call Requirements: None
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Floating: Occasional floating to other level 3 units
• Holiday Requirements: 1 holiday per contract
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit Description: Stroke/AMS unit that also cares for standard medical patients

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Locals: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles away from the facility)
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Background Check: Required within 90 days of start; must cover last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
• Education Verification: Diploma/transcript or education verification required
• Physical Exam: Required
• TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year; T-Spots not accepted
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles): Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Mumps: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
• Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
• Flu Vaccination: Required for flu season (October–May) or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation

• Modules: Completion of facility-specific training modules (~8-10 hours) required before start date
• Photo: Passport-style photo required for badge
• Confidentiality Agreement: Must be signed prior to start

This position offers a structured night shift role on a specialized stroke and medical surgical unit, ideal for nurses with at least one year of experience in the specialty and required certifications. Prior travel experience is not mandatory, and first-time travelers are welcome. Compliance with health screenings, immunizations, and facility-specific onboarding is required.
