Description
Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Facility & Unit Details
- Transplant facility and Primary Stroke Center
- MRI/MRA heavy workload
- Floating within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
- Call: 1 weekend every 6 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
- Unit accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
Certifications & Licenses
- State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (if applicable)
- ACLS: Required for certain specialties; verify if required for this role
- BLS: Generally required
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required depending on specialty area—verify as needed
- Allied Annual License Verification within 30 days prior to start date
- Education verification required; diplomas/transcripts may be needed
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 16 weeks = 16 hours)
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Health & Background Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start; must be complete prior to start
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start; additional TB testing may be required for privileging specialties
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination (privileging specialties have additional requirements)
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- TB Questionnaire required annually
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by agency)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain specialties)
- Competency Exam for Nursing and Allied (agency requirement)
Holidays & Scheduling
- Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
- Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Additional Notes
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Return to Office (RTO) requirement: maximum 7 days
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- References and work history verification required by agency (not client)
