Description

Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Seneca, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Weekend shifts: Saturday, Sunday, Monday
  • Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Monday: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
  • Call required; rotation with 3-4 other techs

Job Requirements

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Tech)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field
  • At least 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system
  • Required Certifications:
    • ARRT MR (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Magnetic Resonance)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Scrubs color: Hunter Green

Job Responsibilities & Policies

  • Floating Policy: Must be willing to float to other units or campuses within the health system as needed, only to units where qualified and competencies are documented.
  • Medication System used: Omnicell
  • Documentation System: EPIC

Compliance & Credentialing Requirements

Certifications & Licenses

  • ARRT MR and BLS certifications required (AHA and ARC accepted; RQI acceptable)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, and others may be required depending on unit (check unit-specific requirements)
  • State License: Primary source verification required; license must be current and valid for South Carolina
  • NURSYS verification required for all licenses
  • IV Certification required for LPN/LVN candidates (if applicable)
  • Tech Certification (National) must be current and verified within 30 days of start

Background Checks & Screenings

  • 7-year background check within 12 months of start date required
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
  • Fingerprinting may be required depending on prior residency and role
  • Drug screening: 5-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification: Highest level of education must be verified; diplomas not accepted as placeholders

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Immunizations and/or titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required (not required for 100% remote workers)

Competency & Training Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required annually
  • Core Parts I, II, and III training and exams required annually (including OSHA, patient safety, ethics, etc.)
  • Color Blindness testing required for certain roles (e.g., Emergency Department)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for applicable roles (not for prebook or non-clinical)
  • Online Cornerstone Modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport style, specific background and no alterations)
  • Contractor Acknowledgment and Floating Policy documents must be signed and uploaded annually
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA and OSHA training) required annually
