Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum contract length: 13 weeks
- RN will rotate through:
- Triage
- Antepartum
- Labor
- Circulate
- Transition (no post-partum)
- Certifications required: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, NRP
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum standard for L&D RN (typically 1-2 years)

Certifications & Licenses
- Mandatory:
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all clinical positions)

Background & Compliance Requirements
- 10-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including SSN Trace, State, County, and aliases where allowed
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Check within 30 days prior to start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Check within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required for L&D RN
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement, Drug Screening and Blood Testing Consent, TB Questionnaire, and Compliance Checklist must be reviewed/signed prior to start
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract):
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or series)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or documented history)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- N95 Fit Test required within 1 year of start (facility will not accept PAPR)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exam and Age Specific Competency Exam required within 1 year of start
- Skills checklist required and must be updated annually
Additional Notes
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required and updated annually
- Candidate must complete facility-specific health record forms and compliance documents prior to start
