Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Lansing, Michigan

Job Details

• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every 5th weekend
• No float, no call required
• Specialty: Home Health Nursing
• Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with PICC lines, Ports, tracheostomies, Pleurx catheters, and patient education
  • Familiarity with Medicare guidelines related to Homecare
  • Ability to complete OASIS documentation
  • Epic electronic health record experience required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of adult home health nursing experience (higher experience requirement applies)
• Prior travel experience required: Unit will NOT accept first-time travelers

Certifications Required

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (American Heart Association or RQI accepted)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID
• Social Security Card
• Emergency Contact Form
• E-Verify documentation
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year address history
  • Social Security Number Trace
  • National Criminal History Search (7 years)
  • National Sex Offender Database Search
  • FACIS Level 3 Search
  • Education verification
  • DMV search (required for Home Health positions)
  • International background checks if applicable
• Michigan Workforce Fingerprinting (must be completed in Michigan)
• Highest level of education verification
• Physical exam within 12 months (must note latex sensitivity)
• OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity documentation or boosters/declination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination or declination
• Drug screening:

  • 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (medical marijuana cards or dilute screens not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exam
• References: 2 references from previous employers required
• Current resume with at least 7 years of work history
• Skills checklist and application with complete work history

Summary

This is a travel contract position for an experienced Home Health RN with at least 1 year of adult home health experience and prior travel experience. The role requires proficiency in specific clinical skills, Medicare knowledge, Epic EHR experience, and compliance with extensive documentation and health requirements. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with a consistent weekday shift and every 5th weekend coverage.
