Job Description

• Staff RN position on a 5-bed OB Unit including Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient Testing.
• Must be able to start on the specified date at 7:00 AM exactly.
• Must work any shifts, preferably nights.
• Required to work 80 hours every 2 weeks without exceptions.
• Willingness to float to other departments if census decreases.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery and couplet care experience.
• Able to care for:

  • Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, High Risk pregnancies (e.g., PIH, placenta abruption, prolapse cord, placenta previa, VBAC, GDM, PTL, PROM).
  • Laboring patients, observation, and NST patients.
  • Well babies, phototherapy, and special care nursery babies.
• Clinical skills:

  • Start adult and neonatal IVs.
  • Perform adult and neonatal Accu checks.
  • Conduct PKU testing on newborns.
  • Provide newborn resuscitation if needed.
  • APGAR scoring, bulb suctioning, and Delee suctioning of newborns.
  • Assist with circumcisions.
  • Assist anesthesia with intrathecal or epidural administration.
  • Monitor PCA pumps.
  • Attend C-sections and care for newborns and recovering patients.
  • Hang IV fluids and IVPB medications.
  • Administer and titrate Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips.
  • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate.
  • Manage laboring patients on Cytotec, intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC), internal scalp electrode (ISE), amnioinfusion.
  • Assist with external cephalic version (ECV).

Licensure and Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE certification
• Fetal Monitoring (FM) certification

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required.

Additional Information

• Holiday pay based on hours worked on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
