Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
- Start Dates: February 23 or March 9
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience, including previous acute care experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
- Locals Accepted: Yes (at a lower rate)
- Pending Licenses: Accepted (estimated time to approval: 30 business days)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- State-specific caregiver screening (Wisconsin Caregiver Search)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen with expanded opiates within 14 days before start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October to March)
- Professional references: 2 verified within 2 years of start
Additional Certifications & Competencies (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – not required for CNAs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient, Med Surg, Step Down RN positions)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (for dialysis/kidney center roles)
- Competency Exam relevant to specialty
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters)
- Compliance checklist and confidentiality statement to be completed prior to start
- Dosimeter request form (for Imaging Department only; not required for MRI Techs)
Immunization Requirements (or proof of immunity)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
For low or equivocal titers, proof of 2 vaccines post-titer administered 28 days apart is required. Candidates may start with the 2nd booster pending if the 1st booster is received prior to start.

- Candidates must comply with all health and background requirements prior to start.
- Annual renewals and updates may be required for some certifications and health documents.
- This position is open to first-time travelers and locals.
- Pending licenses are accepted with an estimated 30 business day approval timeline.
