Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Case Manager RN
  • Must have Alaska RN license in hand for auto offer.
  • Acute Care experience required.
  • Must have Epic electronic health record system experience.
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule.
  • No on-call required.
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required.
  • Locals not accepted (candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility).
  • Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks, with possibility of being called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks.
  • First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Alaska RN License (must be active and in hand before start).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Registered Nurse, Acute Care).

Skills

  • Epic electronic health record system experience required.
  • Acute Care experience required.

Scheduling & Work Conditions

  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts during the day.
  • Weekend work required as noted above.
  • Floating within scope of practice may be required.
  • No block scheduling accommodation.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background & Verification

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Education verification required for nursing degree.
  • NURSYS verification required for RN license.
  • Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Fit mask test required (updated annually).
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine or declination

Competencies & Training

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
  • Skills checklist updated annually as applicable.
  • Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start.
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
    • Annual Regulatory Requirements
    • Specialty Specific Modules (if applicable)
    • Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
    • Regional Core and Specialty Modules as assigned.

Other Requirements

  • Float Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance).
  • Compliance with state-specific background and registry checks as applicable.

Additional Notes

  • Pending licenses are not accepted.
  • Only one time-off request allowed per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days). No holiday time off for auto offer.
  • Parking is free.
  • Scrubs provided.
  • Charting system: Epic.

This position is ideal for RNs with acute care and Epic experience who are open to travel assignments in Alaska and meet the licensure and certification requirements. First-time travelers are welcome.
