Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7pm-7am)
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience (permanent, prior to travel)
• License: Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • Must be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
• References: One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required (Charge RN references accepted)
• Testing:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication competency test will be completed during orientation; passing scores are required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Comprehensive background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required monthly
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required: Tdap (every 10 years), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (or approved exemption)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Competency Exams:

  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Orientation & Training:

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
  • Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation
  • Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required
• References & Employment History:

  • Two references required from employment within one year of start, from a manager, ANM, supervisor, charge nurse, or director (co-worker references not accepted)
  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting and similar area to pending assignment

Additional Notes

• Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending as long as fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start
• Pass/fail testing is not required for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap since their most recent contract at any Cleveland Clinic location or agency flips with less than 6 months gap between contracts
