Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift)
Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Deliver high-quality care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patient populations.
- Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the telemetry/med-surg unit.
- ACLS certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Iowa.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (American Heart Association or Apex Innovations only)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing (based on specialty and job requirements).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Immunizations & Health Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted.
- MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
- Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, 1 booster or declination accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declinations accepted.
- Influenza vaccine required during season (Sept 1 – March 31); vaccine or facility declination accepted.
- TB Test: Negative test within past year or documentation of past positive test with clear chest x-ray and questionnaire.
- Fit Test for approved respirators completed prior to start.
- Health Statement: Physician statement within last 12 months.
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (THC not required).
Background & Verification
- Background check including social security trace, county searches, sex offender registry, and nationwide checks within 30 days of start.
- Adult and Child Abuse registry check as per Iowa state requirements.
- Education verification through third party.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Professional references: 2 required, including 1 supervisor reference.
- Resume submission required.
- I-9 attestation on agency letterhead required.
- Color vision screening required.
- Contract employee data sheet and other compliance documents required.
- National Sex Offender (NSO) and OFAC checks within 30 days of start.
- OSHA questionnaire completion required.
- Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgment required.
- Evergreen Link attestation required within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
