Description
Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Job Summary
- Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems by physical or mechanical means to maintain or restore function impaired by injury or disease.
- Manage pain and promote mobility and health as prescribed by the referring physician.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans.
- Administer physical therapy modalities and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Work primarily in inpatient acute care and inpatient rehab settings.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shift Options:
- 5 x 8-hour shifts, Friday through Tuesday (8 AM - 5 PM)
- 4 x 10-hour shifts, Friday through Monday
- 4 x 10-hour shifts, Saturday through Tuesday
- Weekend work required.
- No on-call requirement.
- Floating required between inpatient rehab and acute care units.
- Work environment includes potential exposure to communicable diseases, combative patients, and hazardous chemicals.
- Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment.
- Physically demanding: prolonged standing/walking, lifting/transferring patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
Education
- Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.
Licensure & Certification
- Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure.
- BLS certification via AHA.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Physical Therapy specialty.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
Skills
- Strong assessment, evaluation, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Good physical condition required.
- Ability to stand and walk extensively.
- Ability to lift, position, and transfer patients and equipment.
- Ability to lift supplies or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Additional Notes
- Responsible to Director/Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
