Job Summary

• Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return
• Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - CVICU
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in ICU (highest requirement found)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted, preferred no)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)
• Must pass Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam annually (via Relias)
• Must pass EKG exam (no exceptions)
• Background Check: Required within 6 months of start
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days (specific substances listed)
• Other Required Documents:

  • Photo for badge (professional passport-style)
  • Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., confidentiality, patient ID, code of conduct, parking registration) must be completed prior to start
