Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position: Registered Nurse (CVICU)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Facility Type: Short-term acute care, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 733
- Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months to return
- Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - CVICU
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in ICU (highest requirement found)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted, preferred no)
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)
- Must pass Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam annually (via Relias)
- Must pass EKG exam (no exceptions)
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days (specific substances listed)
- Other Required Documents:
- Photo for badge (professional passport-style)
- Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., confidentiality, patient ID, code of conduct, parking registration) must be completed prior to start
