Job Description

• Position in Pre-Screen Unit; clinical fit to be determined by clinical team and manager.

• Manager interview required.

• Must be proficient and able to function independently with the DaVinci Xi robot (bonus for familiarity with DV5 DaVinci robot).

• Proficiency required in robotic general, gynecology, thoracic, and urology specialties.

• Must be able to function independently in the following specialties:

  • Robotics
  • Orthopedics
  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology (GYN)
  • Urology
  • Bariatrics
  • ENT
  • Plastics
  • Vascular
  • Thoracic (excluding cardiac and open heart)
  • Trauma

• Level I Trauma experience required; minimum Level II trauma experience (>1 year) acceptable but Level I preferred.

• May care for COVID-19 patients.

• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Work Schedule & Call Requirements

• 2-3 calls within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute response time required.
• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
• 3-4 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrix; weekends can be day, evening, or night shifts.
• Holidays as needed (day, evening, or night shifts).
• Floating as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Registered Nurse in specialty; Level I trauma experience required (or Level II with >1 year experience, but Level I preferred).
• Prior Travel Experience: Previous travel experience required.
• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Pennsylvania.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Other certifications as applicable (e.g., TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course may be required).
• Proficiency with DaVinci Xi robotic surgical system and related specialties.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • PA FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search results within 1 year of start (cannot start with results pending).
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
• Education verification (highest level).
• Professional references (2 within last 3 years).
• Employment application or most recent resume.
• Skills checklist annually.
• Photo for badge (passport-style, professional).
• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; chest x-ray if positive.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if titers negative/equivocal.
  • Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only).
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually.
• Completion of required online Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start.
• Review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, and others.

Additional Notes

• Must be able to scrub and circulate in the OR.
• Must be proficient without need for refresher training.
• Other robotic experience (e.g., ortho/neuro robots) is not relevant.
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission.

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with strong trauma and robotic surgery skills who have prior travel experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-specialty surgical environment.
