Job Description

• Circulate cases in the Operating Room (OR)
• Assist with turnover cleaning
• Transport patients as needed
• Schedule cases
• Independently circulate for procedures including:

  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic
  • Vascular
  • Ophthalmic
  • Urology
  • ENT
  • Endoscopy
  • Robotic Surgery
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Equipment used: Meditech, PYXIS
• Small but busy OR with 6 OR suites plus one dedicated to C-sections
• Typically 4 to 6 rooms running simultaneously

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 06:45 to 23:15 (variable shifts based on department needs)
• 40 hours per week (possibility of 32 hours during holidays)
• 24/7 call coverage; assigned call 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
• Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call back
• Orientation on day shift for up to 1 week or as per manager’s discretion
• Travelers must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract if requested time off is approved

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Nursing (Operating Room RN)
• Minimum 3 years of circulating experience in a hospital setting (higher end of 2-3 years stated)
• Ability to scrub cases preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Valid State of Hawaii RN license

• Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
• Scrubs provided
