Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Nights)

Job Description

• Work on an Adaptive Acuity Unit with occasional assignment to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care at a 3:1 patient ratio (non-negotiable).
• Charge nurse responsibilities are required and cannot be refused.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
• Must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice.
• No 48-hour guarantee available for this assignment.
• Overtime will be paid at regular rate (no multiplier).
• Call, call-back, and charge pay are not applicable beyond the charge nurse requirement.

Required Qualifications

• License: Vermont RN License or Compact RN License (must be current and uploaded).
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
  • Charge nurse experience is required.
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is strongly required.
  • Drip experience is required.
  • ICU experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience is required (non-negotiable).
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association BLS (current).
  • American Heart Association ACLS (current).
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Must provide a supervisory signed reference from within the past two years.
  • Skills checklists for PCU, Med Surg, and Telemetry current within 1 year must be documented.
  • Permanent address and any requested time off must be included at submission; scheduling requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a small critical access facility.

• This position requires flexibility and the ability to work charge nurse duties.
• The facility values nurses who can adapt to multiple inpatient units and provide high-level care in a critical access hospital setting.
