Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in monitoring telemetry patients preferred
- Must be able to pass the telemetry test
- IV start and general nursing skills including IVs, monitoring, labs, medication administration, and patient education
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active RN license in Ohio
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification) — verify per unit specifics
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be completed within 1 year of start)
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
- Annual background monitoring including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Completion of facility-specific compliance forms and training (e.g., Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training, Dress Code and Hand Hygiene Policy)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers)
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs (with exceptions for certain units or remote positions)
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

- Floating to other units of similar or lower acuity is expected
