Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 7 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
• Schedule Requirements:

  • Float required
  • Every other weekend required
• Start Date: ASAP
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maryland
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty (MS/Tele)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
  • Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam:

    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• Additional Certifications (as applicable):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in ED or Pediatrics
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required by unit
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D candidates

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score ≥ 80%) within 3 years
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Dysrhythmia: Basics A exam) within 1 year, updated annually
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
• Competency Exam (score ≥ 80%) within 3 years

Background and Health Requirements

• Criminal Background Check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Education Verification of highest degree required by position
• Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar)

Documentation and Compliance

• I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start
• Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
• Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual
• References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position in MS/Tele specialty requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with no prior travel experience required. Candidates must pass a specialized EKG exam and hold current BLS and NIHSS certifications. The role includes floating and weekend shifts with a 13-week contract length.
