Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM (Four 9-hour shifts; 36 hours/week)
- Must have Operating Room (OR) experience
- EPIC experience required
- Traveler will float as needed across specialty clusters and campuses within a 15-mile radius
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
- May perform diagnostic radiographic procedures independently, including administration of contrast media
- Work within scope of practice and licensure for medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture
- Coordinate patient flow and Radiology Department activities
- May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs
- May have on-call responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Radiologic Technology
- Current Ohio Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT and ODH certification)
- BLS certification through AHA required
- OR experience required
- EPIC experience required
- Prior travel experience preferred (not explicitly required)
- Must be fitted for N95 respirator before working on the High-Risk Respiratory Unit (HRRU) unless PAPR is provided/needed
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume at least OR experience plus radiology tech competency
- Prior travel experience: Preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
- Must float to other units as assigned, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units
- May be assigned to multiple campuses within the health system
- Must be available for weekend and holiday shifts every other week
- Compliance with all health and safety protocols including respirator fit testing
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS (AHA) required
- ARRT certification required
- Ohio state licensure verification required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Drug screening within 12 months, including marijuana panel (medical marijuana use not accepted)
- Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for work
- Immunizations and health documents as required (TB, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Flu vaccine or exemption)
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year
- Other competency exams and certifications as applicable
Work Environment & Other Notes
- Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
- Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts or contract with notice
- Floating assignments may include support roles on nursing care teams
- Must maintain professional judgment and equipment maintenance
