Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Augusta, Georgia

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- 1st time travelers are accepted.
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Required Certifications and Licenses
- License: Must be licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Georgia.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- RRT or minimum of CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician) with critical care skills and 5+ years experience as a therapist
- Additional certifications may be required or preferred based on specialty and unit (e.g., NRP for neonates).
Skills and Competencies
- ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) Interpretation
- CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP management
- Flow-by oxygen delivery
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Trach collar management
- High flow nasal cannula use
- Airway management
Work Environment and Schedule
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic (required)
- Other systems: Pyxis
- Scrub color: Pewter gray
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days
- RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within facility and possibly to an additional nearby campus (within 3 miles)
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Compliance and Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
Health and Background Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months.
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process).
- Two clinical references required.
- Competency exams may be required (e.g., medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency).
- Color blindness testing required.
