Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide adult home health nursing care with a focus on post-op surgical home health experience (orthopedic & general surgery).
• Manage caseloads of approximately 27-30 patients per day.
• Work schedule: Monday-Friday with weekend rotation (approximately 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks).
• On-call duties may be required.
• No float requirements.
• Opportunity for overtime may be available.
• Work setting includes care involving Pleurx drains.
• EPIC and OASIS experience required.
• Recent Medicare Home Health experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Home Health)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (post-op surgical home health experience required).
• Licensure: Valid Florida RN license or compact license required at time of submission.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (verify with employer).
  • HIV, Medication Errors, and Alzheimer's certifications required for anyone working in Home Care.
• References: Two professional references from authority figures (managers, supervisors, charge nurses, or directors) within the last 12 months required.
• Immunizations: Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31) unless medically or religiously exempted with proper documentation.

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including MVR, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting per Florida AHCA Level II standards must be completed prior to start.
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start required.
• Fit mask test required within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy applies).
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start required.
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start required.
• Immunization titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella within 5 years of start.
• Auto insurance required for Home Health.
• Completion of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, and badge form.

Work Environment & Other Notes

• Scrubs: Any solid color.
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers.
• Contracted hours are guaranteed.
• Strict compliance with all health and background documentation is mandatory.
