Travel Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
Location: Lafayette, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Unit & Patient Information
- Patient Diagnoses: Chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope
- Potential med-surg overflow including GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID+
- Special Procedures/Unit Details:
- Pre/post cath lab
- PPM/AICD
- Ablations post-op CABG
- Post-op thoracotomy
- Vascular surgeries (CEAs, fem-pops), AAA repair
- Titration of drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, heparin)
- Sheath pulling at bedside
- May be assigned to all inpatient units and emergency teams during events
- Scheduling: Every other holiday required; no guaranteed block scheduling
Required Skills & Certifications
- BLS (AHA only, RQI accepted)
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- On-unit monitoring post MI, post cath, and most cardiac surgeries
- Port access and blood pressure administration
- Central and peripheral line care/management
- Starting IVs
- Managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Wound care including wound vacs
- Chest tube management
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for MS/Telemetry and cardiac-related specialties
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with program management if unclear)
Required Licenses
- Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN license required upon submission
- License must be current or in renewal process prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years in specialty or higher if known from other sources

Additional Important Information
- May be assigned to an emergency team during events and expected to stay until event passes or be part of relief team
- Must be comfortable with emergency event assignments

- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct-Apr)

- TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Physical exam indicating good health within 12 months
- COVID-19 medical or religious exemption forms available if applicable
