Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Plant City, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology cases
• Average daily census: 10-12 patients
• Weekend requirement: On call (average 12 days/month)
• No floating outside scope of practice
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Locals and pending licenses not accepted
• Conscious Sedation and Telemetry skills required
• Cath Lab/STEMI call required
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Required Qualifications

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience (first-timers accepted if they have Cath Lab experience)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • Cath Lab Tech certification (RCIS or ARRT). If ARRT used, Florida license also required
• Licensure: Valid Florida license for Cath Lab Tech
• Skills: Conscious Sedation, Telemetry
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

• Special equipment: Cerner, Xper, Phillips Lab, Siemens Lab
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Active Driver’s License required throughout assignment
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if education outside USA or Puerto Rico
• Education verification required
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (with TB questionnaire if prior positive)
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use required
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Cath Lab and related units
• Color blind testing required prior to start
• Stroke education CEUs and NIH Stroke Certification not specifically required for this role
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) not required for this role

Additional Requirements

• On-call availability average 12 days per month
• Must provide 2 professional references from past 2 years
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Photo for badge required prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
• Compliance with facility dress code and tobacco policy

Notes

• No guaranteed hours until after first call off per pay period
• No locals accepted; must be willing to travel
• No return-to-office (RTO) restrictions in contract; may be discussed during interview

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable with on-call weekend shifts and working in a fast-paced cardiac cath lab environment. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers with Cath Lab experience are welcome.
