Job Description
- Clinical review and auto offer process
- Start date: 03/02
- Must be a Certified Labor & Delivery (L&D) Technician
- Must have OB (Obstetrics) experience
- Must be NBSTA certified and have Virginia registration in hand
- Rotating schedule: 6 weeks days followed by 6 weeks nights (subject to change based on staffing needs)
- Work every other holiday
- Can approve 40 hours for time off
Required Qualifications
- Certification: NBSTA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
- Virginia state registration/license for Certified OB Tech
- OB experience required
- Must meet all facility and state licensing requirements for Certified OB Tech
Certifications (may be required or preferred)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – as applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required for all clinical candidates except some exceptions
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – as applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – may be required or preferred
- Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days
- HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days
- Education verification through a third-party vendor (official transcripts required)
- Drug testing within 2 months of start, updated annually (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (no exemptions allowed)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up testing)
- Varicella vaccination or titer (declination accepted but required)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of professional appearance guidelines
- Completion of various facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., release authorization, TB screening, traveler compliance)
- Fit testing for patient-facing roles (completed onsite if required)
- Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment during orientation for adult inpatient and mother-baby units (not required for this role unless specified)
