Job Opportunity: IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to cover both vascular and neuro IR procedures. The position requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with call responsibilities including 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend and possible holiday call. Call back time is 30 minutes.

Core Duties

• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic monitoring.
• Maintain sterile technique during procedure setup.
• Ensure patient and unit confidentiality.
• Prepare entry sites using sterile technique.
• Continuously monitor patient ECG and blood pressure, document and communicate findings to physicians.
• Participate in on-call rotation and be available for emergent procedures 24/7.
• Act as code team member, initiating resuscitative measures under physician supervision.
• Document procedures accurately and manage inventory and billing systems.
• Participate in educational and in-service training.
• Instruct radiography students on patient positioning, technique, and equipment use.
• Maintain specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement and inventory management activities.
• Prepare patients prior to procedures.

Equipment Used

• Canon equipment in Body/Vascular IR rooms
• Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos in Neuro rooms
• GE ultrasound equipment in all rooms

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Radiation badge must be provided by the agency (not provided by facility)
• Valid driver’s license with address outside 50 miles from the facility

Schedule & Call Details

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Call: 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend, possible holiday call
• 30-minute call back time
• Scrubs provided

This position offers a high-volume IR caseload (20-30 cases per day) with a focus on advanced neuro procedures such as cerebral interventions, coiling, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting.
