Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (PT) - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Waynesboro, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position in Pre-Screen Unit; candidates undergo clinical review for fit and compliance with guidelines before manager interview and final decision.
  • May be required to float across county lines if patient care necessitates.
  • Possible care of COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
  • Weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Call requirements: None.
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Therapy/Rehabilitation).
  • Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license required.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required.

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as applicable.
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.) as applicable per unit/job description.
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs (not applicable here but note for reference).

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
  • Education verification of highest degree required.
  • Pending background check attestation required if any results are pending at start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted.
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted.
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually.

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within 3 years required.
  • Most recent resume or employment application required.
  • Annual skills checklist required.
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, and health & wellness commitment must be reviewed and signed.
  • Completion of required Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (for RNs and CNAs; verify if applicable).
  • New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day.
