Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit. The position requires cardiac monitoring skills and experience with Cerner electronic health records. The schedule is 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (0700-1930).

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maryland
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (highest stated requirement)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Competency Exams:

  • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms before start
• Skills:

  • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Genitourinary/Renal care
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Experience with Cerner EHR required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Float capability: Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Shift Requirements:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6

Additional Information

• First-time travel nurses are accepted; prior travel experience is not required
• Locals within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate
• References: Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Background checks, drug screening, and various health and competency verifications are required prior to start and/or annually
• Annual physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations (including flu, TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella) required
• N95 fit testing required within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
• Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start

Schedule

• 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

This position is ideal for RNs with solid MS/Telemetry experience who are comfortable with cardiac monitoring and electronic health records, and who meet the certification and competency requirements.
