Job Opportunity: Acute Care Float Registered Nurse

Location: Warren, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Full-time position, night shifts
• Must be comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
• Requires at least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Must have Minnesota RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS preferred and must be kept up to date during contract)

Required Qualifications

• Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (highest requirement found)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred and must be maintained during contract
• Comfortable working nights and floating between Med Surg and ER units

Prior Travel Experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (annual updates required)
• Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required before start (candidates cannot start with fingerprints pending unless approved “more time needed” letter)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (with specific rules for past positives)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (for candidates born in 1957 or later)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; secondary on-site drug screen prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Professional references: 2 for travel, allied, per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 3 years)

This position is ideal for experienced RNs licensed in Minnesota who are flexible and comfortable working in multiple acute care settings during night shifts.
