Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU Float) - Wichita Falls, Texas

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule:

  • 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
  • Must be agreeable to floating, primarily supporting Med Surg
  • Weekend work required as needed, potentially most weekends during the contract
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Preferred Start Date: March 9 (strongly preferred)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (highest requirement found)
• Prior travel experience is strongly preferred (not explicitly required but highly favored)
• Epic electronic health record experience is strongly preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted (as applicable)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing as applicable

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
• Immunizations and titers (must be current or have valid exemptions):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine (required during flu season; medical/religious exemptions possible)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation required
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant acceptable)
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (must be current and renewed annually)
• Required documentation includes government-issued photo ID and E-Verify or attestation

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to complete facility-specific documents and orientation prior to start
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start

• Must be flexible to float between units as needed

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with Med Surg float assignments, weekend work, and flexible scheduling in a travel contract role. Prior travel experience and Epic system knowledge are highly preferred.
