Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Seaside, Oregon
Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Details

  • Shift: Day/Night rotations with variable shifts; ample notice provided for rest between shifts
  • Floating: Yes, position floats between units and possibly other facilities within the system
  • On-Call: Yes, may be required based on census
  • Weekends: May be required to work every other weekend
  • Block Schedules: Not required
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1
  • Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
  • Total Staffed Beds: 23
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Parking: No fee
  • Scrub Color: Any color allowed (including outpatient PT); OR/L&D scrubs provided
  • Transportation: Must have a vehicle for assignment
  • Floating Incentives: Additional pay and hotel accommodations offered if floating to certain locations consecutively

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid RN license for Oregon
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele nursing (higher experience requirement applies)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
    • BLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
    • PALS (if applicable)
    • NRP (if applicable)
    • Other certifications as required by clinical track or unit (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM)
  • Competencies: Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks including SSN trace, education verification, state-specific searches, and more, updated as required
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
    • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates
    • Fit mask testing (annual) for travel candidates
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules for MS/Tele nursing
    • Regional and facility-specific modules as applicable
  • Must comply with floating policy acknowledgment
  • Must provide a passport-style badge photo with neutral background
  • Must have valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security card
  • Must complete all required background and state-specific checks prior to start

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Floating between units and facilities is common and may include multiple locations within the hospital system
  • On-call and weekend work may be required
  • Patient care ratios are approximately 4:1
  • Use of Epic electronic health record system
  • No parking fees at the facility

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Tele RNs comfortable with variable shifts, floating, and working in a critical access hospital setting.
