Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Nuclear Medicine Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. The patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Nuclear Medicine (highest required years of experience)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
    • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
  • Licensure: Must be licensed as a Nuclear Medicine Tech in the state of Georgia
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with:
    • Xceleris processing system
    • Fuji Synapse 5 - PACS system
    • AtomLab960 Thyroid Probe/Well Counter
    • Capintec CRC-55tR dose calibrator
    • Capintec CRC-15 Beta dose calibrator
    • LudLum Model 14C survey meter
    • Bicron 2000 survey meter
  • Systems: Experience with Epic, PACS, Philips Skylight, Siemens Symbia Evo
  • Other: Must pass color blind testing (with alternative evaluation if needed)

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Call: One week per month, weekdays and weekends (shift end to 2300 on weekdays; 0700-2300 on weekends)
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Scrub Color: Dark Grey

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval

Health & Background Requirements

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no pending results allowed)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if prior positive)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required immunizations or titers:
    • Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Education verification of related degree (can be pending with proof of processing)
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months
  • Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending with proof)
  • Two clinical references required
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam (required for RNs/LVNs, not for this role)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam not applicable for this specialty
