Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (PACU) - Stockbridge, Georgia

Patient Population

  • Adolescents to Geriatrics

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Surgery disciplines
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
  • Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub color provided by facility
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • On-call: Yes; backup on weekdays and weekend rotation on a 6-week schedule
  • Holiday work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (higher years not specified)
  • Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse license for Georgia
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM) — refer to specialty/unit requirements
  • Competency exams required:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (for applicable units)
    • Color Blind Testing
    • General competency exam for nursing

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance with orientation and credentialing required to start on time
  • Clinical screening to determine clinical fit before final approval
  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols if prior positive)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series or declination
    • Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
  • Annual updates required for some documents (e.g., TB questionnaire, Nursys license verification)

Additional Requirements

  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof)
  • Two clinical references required
  • Must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
