Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Details

Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Call Requirements: None
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Locals Accepted: No, travelers must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
Charting System: Cerner PowerChart
Scrub Color: Grey

Required Qualifications

License: Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- State License
Preferred Certifications:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Requirements

Background Check: Required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
Education Verification: Diploma or transcript required
Physical Exam: Required
TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year of start (T-Spots not accepted)
Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
- Hepatitis B - titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Flu Vaccination: Required prior to start or approved medical/religious exemption
COVID-19 Vaccination: Medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Notes

First-time travelers are accepted
Prior travel experience is not required
Candidates must complete facility-specific modules prior to start (approx. 8-10 hours)
No call or on-site EKG exam required for this position

This position is ideal for RRTs seeking a night shift travel assignment in Michigan with a supportive hospital system and clear certification requirements.
