Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift:
- 3 shifts of 12 hours each on Saturday & Sunday (7:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
- Rotating weekday shifts (8:00 AM - 8:30 PM)
- Weekend/On Call: No on call required
- First Time Traveler: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Must live more than 50 miles away
- Lead Coverage: Travelers may be required to provide lead coverage in the absence of a supervisor or designated lead technologist. This includes workflow oversight and serving as a point of contact during the shift. Candidates unwilling to provide lead coverage should not apply.

Required Qualifications
- License: Must hold a valid license appropriate for an X-Ray Tech in New York
- Experience: (Not explicitly stated; assume standard for X-Ray Tech roles)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable, as required by unit
- Other certifications as required by unit description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) may be necessary
- Tech Certification: National tech certification verification required within 30 days of start (if applicable)
- Orientation: Safety manual acknowledgement required
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- 7-year Criminal Background Check within 3 months of start (including SSN Trace, National Criminal, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
- Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if education was obtained internationally
- Education Verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees accepted)
- State-specific background checks including Sex Offender Registry and Medicaid Exclusion List (New York)
Health & Immunization Requirements
Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:
- Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year) or TB Questionnaire
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug Screening within 30 days of start (includes multiple substances)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
- Eye Exam (Snellen) within 1 year (not required annually)
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)
- References: 2 references within 3 years (required for Aya candidates only)
- Employment Application and Skills Checklist (annual)
- Work History Verification: At least 2 past employments verified (Aya Direct candidates)
