Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ICU RNs, verify if applicable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ER, verify if applicable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for Labor & Delivery and NICU RNs
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Required for ER and Behavioral Health (verify if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required for ER and certain hospital units (verify if applicable)
Experience:
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery

Health and Vaccination Requirements
- Influenza vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons with facility-specific forms
- Varicella, Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation not required by client but may be collected for internal purposes
- Flu vaccination not required for employment but may be required for Aya standards
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required by profession
- Competency Exam as required by specialty
Additional Notes
- Healthstream courses assigned on first day of orientation; completion required to perform certain clinical tasks (e.g., glucose testing)
- System Access and Confidentiality Agreement must be signed prior to start
